APRIL FELT DELICIOUSLY SATISFIED WHEN she woke the next morning. Midge was already out of bed and she looked radiant, standing naked by the window. Her skin was golden in the morning sunlight, her hair glowed. April hoped she looked as fresh and rejuvenated.

—That was quite a night, she said to Midge.

—Oh, good morning, sunshine. I was wondering how long you’d sleep.

—Well, I stayed up later than you.

—You did so well, April. Carla won’t be getting too many ideas about your house and your husband after the night she had.

—I hope we weren’t cruel.

—Nonsense, April. She’s sleeping with your husband. You had to do something about it.

—I know. And besides, I think she was having as much fun as we were.

Midge smiled at her. —Believe me, it’s as much a game for her as it is for us. She doesn’t have to be here. She’s in it for the excitement.

—I hope so. I’d hate to think I’ve become cruel. That’s what’s happening to Walter and I have no intention of following his lead.

—You’re not cruel, April. You’re a delight, and I for one am happy to call you a friend.

April lay back and sighed. It did feel good to have a friend. There was a knock on the door.

—Come in, Midge said.

April was amazed at how nonchalant she was, standing completely naked by the window as Jake entered with a silver tray of breakfast things.

—I took the liberty of ordering up, Midge said.

April said nothing. She just looked at Jake as he placed the tray on a side table. He didn’t make a single sign that he noticed Midge’s nakedness. He was as professional as ever. And yet, April knew enough about men to know he must have been rock hard inside his pants. He was a fifty year old butler in the presence of two deliciously sexual ladies, one naked in bed and the other naked in plain sight. She should have known Midge would take it farther.

Midge had said she got a thrill out of being lusted after by the servants. This was a perfect opportunity.

—Jake, she said, sounding mouthwateringly cute, would you open these curtains please?

April shook her head. It was obvious Midge was playing games. She was standing right next to the windows and Jake had to get within a foot of her to reach the curtain ropes. Midge didn’t even get out of his way, she just stood there next to him as he opened and straightened the four sets of curtains on the bedroom windows.

—Thank you, Jake. You’ve been a darling.

What Midge did next surprised April even more.

—And I don’t want to eat breakfast in a messy room. Would you mind making the bed too?

Jake stood where he was, uncertain of how to proceed. The poor man probably didn’t even know where to look. How was he to make the bed with April still in it? April was embarrassed by Midge’s game, and she knew it was a game, but she felt she had better make poor Jake’s life easier and get out of his way.
